RVB Books/Gato Negro Ediciones

A collection of works by Swiss photographer Zoé Aubry.

In 2020, a 25-year-old woman named Ingrid E.V. was murdered by her partner in Mexico City. The tragic photos taken at the crime scene of this murder have been circulated in Mexican tabloids and on social media. spread ripples of protest. As part of a protest against this situation, users on social media used the hashtag #IngridEscamillaVargas to post dozens of photos of natural beauty, such as calm lakes, sunsets, and flower fields, to spread the word across the internet. A campaign has sprung up to rid the site of this harrowing image. This book contains photos posted on SNS along with the hashtag. At the same time as a documentary about the movement, it is also an interesting social survey of what images people associate with the impression of calmness.
