Yale University Press; San Francisco Museum of Modern

A collection of works by American photographer Garry Winogrand.

Winogrand is widely regarded as one of the most important photographers of the 20th century and participated in the 1966 group exhibition Contemporary Photographers, Toward A. Social Landscape' had a great influence on later generations. His style of using a wide-angle lens in a horizontal position and aiming the lens at everyday subjects in a matter-of-fact manner has given rise to the genre division of "con-pora photography" (taken from the exhibition title mentioned above) in Japan as well.

This book, which was published as a catalog for a major retrospective exhibition held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, contains thousands of undeveloped films discovered after his death, as well as representative works shot in Manhattan in the 1960s. It contains a huge amount of works that included unpublished contact sheets. An overwhelming volume and substantial content suitable for a large retrospective exhibition. Photographer Todd PapaGeorge also texted.
