Trophies by Simone Bergantini

A collection of works by Italian photographer Simone Bergantini.

This book includes two projects Burgantini is working on: Trophies and The Golden Path.

The former is a work that was reconstructed from over 300 used trophies that were bought at an online auction. The trophy cup, a symbol of victory, is remodeled to express how modern people reconfigure and share their private lives on social media as if they were the winners of life. In contrast to the trophy, which is the result of victory, the latter contains drawings of sculptures with fitness equipment motifs as a process toward its success. A 24-karat gold sculpture based on this drawing was then actually produced and exhibited.
