Chose Commune

A collection of works by French photographer Vasantha Yogananthan.

This book is the first in a seven-volume series in which the author presents a modern reinterpretation of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana. Yogananthan has followed the path of Ramayana since 2013, traveling through India, Nepal and Sri Lanka for seven years. And while calling out to the locals along the way, he continued to shoot with them, inspired by "Ramayana". This book, the first chapter, is the beginning of the story, and tells the story of Rama and Sita's youth and growth, who do not yet know each other, but are destined to meet and fall in love. The illustrations in this book use the Madhubani painting, which is said to have originated in the story when Sita's father made it when Rama and Sita got married, and Indian artists Mahalakshmi & Santanu Mahalaxmi & Shantanu Das worked on the original drawings.

First edition of 1600 copies, signed by the author. A print of the first privilege is attached.
