Omne. Osservatorio Mobile Nord Est. Work. 2016-2018
Established in 2016 with the aim of deciphering the area between the four Italian provinces of Padua, Treviso, Vicenza, and Venice, it is an Italian platform for artist-in-residences, workshops, exhibitions, publications, etc. , A collection of works by "OMNE - Osservatorio Mobile Nord Est" .
This book was published as a product of the first OMNE/Lab program artist workshop held in June 2016. "WORK" is the central theme of the first year, and when the nine participating artists and a group selected through open recruitment spend 12 days at the Castelfranco Veneto artist residency became a guideline. For decades, in northeastern Italy, work has given birth to regions, changed the landscape, and determined the future of larger regions. Work underlies the social contracts that hold communities together, shaping the landscape and its productive and marginal spaces, restructuring fluidity and reorganizing public and private living spaces. Interweaving the past with the present, memory with the present, the artists participating in this program interpreted the scenery of the Tohoku region.
