"The first photo was taken at my parents' house at the foot of Mt. Nikani. Their ashes are buried in the Nehalem Spit in the distance. Especially my mother. She really liked the fact that she could pick wild strawberries in Spit, and when she couldn't go there because she couldn't walk, she looked forward to picking strawberries for her and taking them home. The photographs are of the interior of the motel, kitchen counters and tables, taken when I returned to Manzanita." —Robert Adams
