Basalt: Guaranteed Real Dutch Photomagazine 1

This is a magazine by Dutch graphic designer and publisher Willem van Zoetendaal, who has been producing photo books since the early 1990s, beginning with "Basalt" in 1994 and continuing to publish excellent books today as "Van Zoetendaal Publishers".

This book is the first issue of the magazine published under the name "Basalt" and features contributions from Helen van Meen, Koos Breukkel, Saerijn van Valen, Leo Divendal, Paul Kooiker, Rineke Dijkstra, Robert Longo, ULAY, Roberto Mancuso Alvarez, Cath Orthuis, Bertian van Manen It features photographs by Arno Noren and others. The second issue was published in 2000, after which the magazine ceased publication. It is a magazine made up entirely of photographs, which is something that is rarely seen these days.
