Cities on the Move
A large-scale traveling exhibition curated by Swiss curator Hans Ulrich Obrist and Chinese curator Hou Hanru, traveling around the world from 1997 to 1999. Exhibition catalog for "Cities on the Move".
Introduces the cultural influence of cities that developed rapidly in East Asia in the latter half of the 20th century through the fusion of visual arts, architecture, and film, with a total of 150 architects, artists, and filmmakers. Designers will participate. According to the Hong Kong-based non-profit organization Asia Art Archive, this exhibition will "make full use of urban theory, actively involve architects, and attempt to reproduce a constantly evolving city within the exhibition space. It was an epoch-making event in contemporary exhibitions, such as the exhibition, and a continuous program of performances, screenings, and discussions was held during the exhibition. Many artists from Japan are also participating.
