A photo book by Dutch photographer Awoiska van der Molen.

Van der Molen's first book and masterpiece, this volume features monochrome landscapes taken at dusk and early morning. The photographs were taken with long exposures of up to 30 minutes in remote locations, including volcanoes in the Canary Islands, and then printed onto large-format silver-halide photographic paper in a darkroom. Photographs exist because of light, but the landscapes in Van der Molen's photographs approach us from the darkness. The potential of Van der Molen's prints, known for their artisanal beauty, has been maximized by the Dutch publisher Fw: Books, known for its excellent book design and editing of photo books.
