alive by Seiichi Furuya

SCALO/Albertina

A collection of works produced as a catalog for Furuya's solo exhibition "alive" held from March 26 to August 29, 2004 in Albertina, Vienna.

Although the representative works including Christine's portraits that have been included in previous collections are also included, this book is about Okinawa in the 1970s, which Furuya photographed before he went to Europe. It opens with photographs taken in and in his hometown of Izu, and ends with many pages devoted to photographs taken after Christine's death. Unlike previous collections, this collection focuses on Furuya's life as a living person.
