Happiness Is The Only True Emotion by Clément Lambelet

A collection of works by Swiss artist Clément Lambelet.

Since 2000, computer search has led to the development of systems that can recognize and interpret human emotions. To create this work entitled "Happiness is the only true emotion", Lombre used "The Pain Expressions Set" provided by the University of Stirling, Scotland. "The Pain Expressions Set" is a database of 599 portraits of 13 women and 10 men showing various emotions. Reconstructed and preserved only the expression (Lombre manipulated the photograph to further exaggerate the expression). These photos are applied to the Microsoft Cognitive Emotion API, an emotion analysis service published by Microsoft, to verify its accuracy. The "Emotion API" should reliably recognize only the emotion "happiness" from these images.
