Self Portrait As 47 Pickles by Erwin Wurm

A collection of works by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm.

Pickles are a recurring motif in Wurm's work, and in 2008 he created an installation titled "Selbstporträtall Gurken (Self-portrait in pickles)". This book contains photographs of pickles taken under the guise of self-portraits. Wurm emptied the pickle jars and, after encapsulating each pickle in colored resin, placed each one on a pedestal and photographed it. It is a series that has a somewhat goofy atmosphere but also has a sexual element.
