The Grand Tour by Kasia Klimpel
A collection of works by Polish photographer/artist Kasia Klimpel.
This book was published in conjunction with the exhibition "The Grand Tour" held at the Mauvoisin Dam and the Bagne Museum in Switzerland. The project, Crimpel explains, is a "journey through the world of maps" that gives new meaning to the concept of the Grand Tour. The Grand Tour was a large-scale graduation trip for students and tutors of the British aristocracy from the 17th to the 19th century, and it was the philosopher Thomas Hobbes and Adam Smith. Smith) and others used to accompany him as a leader. Inspired by a picture of the word 'horizon' that he found on an internet image search, Crimpel used natural light to create fantastical 'landscape' photographs of layers of paper. These landscapes were given titles stating the fictitious exact date and coordinates of the place where the photographs were supposedly taken, and the photographs were then called "Panoramio", Google-operated photographs with local information. Free post sharing site)” was submitted to Google Map. Panoramio has a policy of not posting non-existent photos, but some of the photos were posted in various locations around the world and actually made it into Google Maps.
