People born and raised in the UAE, including a former minister, fisherman, astronaut, fashion designer, AI expert, female racing driver, contemporary artist, conservation expert, Japanese baker, and tailor. Through interviews with 50 people with deep ties to the UAE, flora, and landscape photography, this book outlines life in the United Arab Emirates. A photo-essay by artist Charlie Koolhaas, daughter of Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, presents the Commonwealth of today as a place to live. and flora records reveal how the deserts support an astonishing variety of species.
