A Mycological Foray by John Cage
A collection of works by American contemporary musician, composer, poet, thinker, and mushroom researcher John Cage.
Entitled "Interventions in Mycology," this two-volume anthology draws the reader into the mushroom-covered landscape that resides in the depths of the author's mind. One volume contains photographs and texts of the author's exploration of mushrooms and the various types of plants and fungi encountered during that time. Also includes the complete script of "MUSHROOMS et Variationes" performed in 1983. In addition, the file-like MUSHROOM BOOK is the first reproduction of the author's 1972 portfolio. Includes illustrations by American illustrator Lois Long, who also studied fungi, and commentary by American botanist Alexander H. Smith.
"I have come to the conclusion that you can learn more about music by devoting yourself to mushrooms."- John Cage
