Exosphere by Batia Suter

An artist book by the Netherlands- and Switzerland-based artist, Batia Suter.

This book was produced in conjunction with "Exosphere," an exhibition by Battier Suter held at CAGE GALLERY in Tokyo, Japan, from August 25 to October 29, 2023. In this work, Suter contrasts images of armor with cushioning materials used to transport fruits, vegetables, and headphones. Although the artist often uses old photographs and clippings as source material, in this book she uses materials that are familiar to contemporary viewers, which makes her practice of unraveling fixed meanings and connections between images more interesting.

This exhibition was organized by Kanazawa-based publisher Keijiban, and the book was co-published with Netherlands-based publisher Roma Publications.
