(First Edition) Die Son Sien Alles by Viviane Sassen
Photobook by Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen.
This photobook consists of photographs taken by Viviane Sassen between 2002 and 2004 in Cape Town, Africa, of the interior decorations of private homes, stores, and bars. The humorous decorations made with magazine clippings, advertising posters, and wallpapers in the Western world, which seem to be literally being taken off the walls of the street, are not only interesting in their accidental combination and design aspects that are not found in scheduled beauty but also in showing the magical power of western capitalism.
First edition of 400 copies, hand-numbered by the artist. Out of print.
─Another great documentary work by an artist known for her expression of the triangle relations between photography, visuality, and physicality in the modern age
