Le Soigneur de Gravité
Musée des Arts Contemporains au Grand-Hornu
An exhibition catalog published in conjunction with the exhibition "Le Soigneur de Gravité" held from February 17th to June 1st, 2008 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Grande Orgne, Belgium.
"From eye care to Newton, many people have experienced gravity in religion, art and science. The exhibition Le Carigneur de Gravity explores the art of weightlessness and liberation. Obliquely, art, science, and religion all share the fact that they often try to put matter ahead of the ordinary laws of physics, and thus the domination of gravity is the weight of the world. It has spawned many great stories that have proven ineffective: from the Assumption of Our Lady to the conquest of space to the sublimation of ground forces, gravity is a manifestation of this inexorable human corruption, miracles, utopia, alchemy. Healed in the name of mythical agility, that of the winged god Hermes, Le Carigneur de Gravity builds on this striking spirit to combine contemporary works, It is possible to see the liberating art of weightlessness from an angle.” - From the exhibition description
