Created in the late 1960s and early 1970s, these early works dealt with themes of distortion, experimentation, and illusion, a theme Guidi developed further after acquiring a fisheye lens. In the 1980s, color photographs took the place of bare landscapes like the surface of the moon. This series of works culminated in a partial solar eclipse on August 11, 1999.
