Rooted by Henk Wildschut
A collection of works by Dutch photographer Henk Wildschut.
This book is the final chapter of Wilshut's trilogy about the lives of refugees and immigrants. The film focuses on refugee camp residents who find hope, comfort and dignity in growing a few plants. These miniature garden plants are often little more than a few tin cans with flowers and a handful of seeds struggling to germinate in barren soil. Wilshoot has photographed such humble miniature gardens in refugee camps in Tunisia, Jordan, and Lebanon, depicting the stories of gardeners who are now left with little choice but to put down roots in foreign soil.
