The Design Plot by Shelley Lasica
A collection of works by Australian dancer/choreographer Shelley Lasica.
This is the artist's first collection of works in her 30-plus year career. It was created as a book to explore. The collaborative work "The Design Pot", which is the origin of the title of this book, is a performance work that has been repeatedly performed in various places with various dancers from 2017 to 2020. Project producer Zoe Theodore, in the text included in the book, describes the performance as "a collective conversation that is continually and cumulatively questioned." Organized and amorphous at the same time, the splitting and overlapping of image sequences in a deliberate and cumulative flow of gestures, people, movements and architecture creates a composition like a photobook with its own sequence. Originally edited.
First edition 600 copies.
